I was just given an offer from this MSP for a Project Manager position. Not as much money as I want but more than what I'm making plus extra stuff to sweeten the deal. Benefits are a touch better but a bit more expensive.

I'm going to take the holidays to think about it but it seems like a pretty easy decision even though I feel bad jumping before the merger is complete.

Congrats. Yes, it sounds like a good company and a good position and better than the alternative and a good, overall, career move. Even if this job doesn't end up being ideal, it sets you up for a better future than just staying put.

Notice was given and they tried to get me to stay at least until the merger date and even tossed money at me. Rather than take the risk of loosing this job opportunity I decided to say no. They were understanding and admitted that they are just being greedy and had to try and keep me. So there it is. I start on Jan 18th as a PM for an MSP. Let the fun begin!

Awesome, congrats. Sounds like everyone knew that this was the right decision for you.

                  Congrats!

It's funny they said they were being greedy? While that may be true, it really depends more on who told you that.

So... I was invited to the new jobs annual party tonight but I don't start working there until next Monday. I think it's pretty awesome to be invited before I even start... It's like they really like me!

My current boss just told me to hold off on getting drunk and dancing on the tables... at least until my 90 day review is done. LOL!

Yea... Knowing him it was probably a life lesson that he learned the hard way. Man, I'm going to miss my current boss. 😞

Maybe the MSP wants to hire him, too.
