CloudAtCost: Server Deployment

Actually I don't mind the resource pool option, I can carve up what I bought into small chunks I need.

@Dashrender
In that regard - yes,... you have a point. I liked the lifetime option though.. -

Mine are. I bought in before they switched over to the CloudPro

not that any of that matters - this company would have to get 5 start ratings from some pretty big players before many of us would ever consider using them again for live production.
Though, that said, they claimed they weren't for production.. so ...

I'm using them for "production" stuff... My Plex Server and ACD Mounted storage work great.

I'm still not convinced.
Why are they still giving stuff away.Going by the wording, they are hiding something. It seems all "Look at our wonderful ship! Look! It has a shiny steering wheel! Holes along the water line? Oh look, special offers! Referrals! Get some!"

Basically it is a Ponsey Scheme (no idea how to spell that and too lazy to look it up.) They need to constantly bring in new people to keep the lights on while old people abandon ship. As long as new people keep signing up they can keep supplying power to the servers. They can keep lowering the performance of the old people and hope that they leave as new join. So the system mostly works. It doesn't work for customers, but works for the vendor.

CloudAtCost has completely revoked their "free for life" products that people have already paid for in full and is now simply charging for them - even ones that customers already own. Customers are now being extorted to pay annually for something they were sold specifically so that they would not have to pay for in this way. The service is no longer a scam on the technical level, it is now a full scam on the billing and marketing level as well.
