Pop is soda, to those of you from "everywhere but upstate NY."

I'm getting some traction for my carcas to attend MangoCon
Higher ups are asking what will be presented / what will I learn / what's the value?
Help me validate this conf to them so I can attend
-
@MattSpeller there will be lessons on how to tell a mango from a papaya.... a master class in wine tasting.... not sure which ones are official yet.
-
I have a papaya in the fridge right now.
-
@scottalanmiller are you sure it's not a mango? Or are you the instructor for that class?
-
As long as I am certain some folks are not there, then I'm good. Either I take the Charger for a run or I fly up, don't know.
-
Has pricing been set yet? I'm also looking to see what sessions will be offered before so i can justify the 900mile drive.

I am checking flights now to see if we can fly from Dubai. Prices seems to be ok there, but considering that i am starting on my own early next year, not sure what will be the situation by Sept 2016 but keeping an eye on the prices and see if we can make it, really want to attend and meet you all amazing people.
Today's price is 7178 United Arab Emirates Dirham = 1954.29 US Dollar for 2
Not sure about the visa though! If I come with my wife, by the time we attend Mangocon, hope she can go around and see places too!

That would be awesome! I can't imagine that visas will be too bad. Necessary but not too terrible. You should be able to get a tourist visa and do it that way since you will be being legitimate tourists while you are Stateside. Lots to see in the area, Upstate NY is very neat. Although I'd recommend booking time to go see New York City too, which is quite some ways away. If you can spend some time in the area you are close to a LOT of stuff like everything from Washington, DC to Boston and all of that famous history and culture is only a few hours each direction by car.

My cousin teaches special needs students in Dubai. She flies home twice a year for about $1,000. Edit: Oh I see you have for 2 after that sorry.

It's amazing how cheaply you can get to the States from Dubai, but it is because Dubai is a major global hub, the flights are direct and the airlines are subsidized.
-
Next Mangocon... in Dubai then!

Far but cheap and hot.
