I moved to Pidgin a few years back... Was logging into about 8 different accounts with it.

I'd like to find one that works with Facebook... and actually marks my Facebook messages as read when I read them in the chat client.

Pidgin and Thunderbird both do, I believe. So does Skype.

I have used some web based clients in the past. They were not all that great, but they worked and there is something to be said about not needing to have anything deployed to the users' machines at all and for them being able to work from anywhere, not just work machines.

Say what? Skype will read FB messages?

Yes, Skype talks to FB by default as long as you sign in 🙂

@scottalanmiller The only Gotcha is that your Facebook Friend also has to be using Skype from what I can see. 😞

Came here to say Spark, but since that is not ideal I would definitely say Pigeon. Used it before and it is very well rounded.

Then that is not using FB messenger, that's just finding people in skype through FB.. near worthless.

I want what Pidgin provides, multiple protocols in a single console.

Pidgin is probably your choice then.
