That's a ton of lurkers!
An expected kind of number, really. The number of people who read versus those that participate is a large ratio. @nic probably has the industry accepted standard numbers, but I think it is either 100:1 or 1000:1 or something like that.
-
Yeah the typical rule of thumb ratio is 90:9:1 - 90% lurkers, 9% casuals, 1% power users
-
Up to 51,600 now, these are huge numbers. And the current activity is so high that it is minute by minute driving up the day rate!

There have been a few crazy busy days this month.

Actually what has made this month so strong is that there were no spikes. It's been solid, stable posting and traffic all month. And what little "spikes" there have been are weird like today where posting is down and views are up.
-
We are up to 58,300! We might manage to break the 60K barrier today. Not sure that that would be a record day or not, but certainly an amazing one.
-
We topped the 60K daily views mark!
-
And we passed the August "views per month" record an hour ago with more than a full 24 hour period left in October. Even if this was a short thirty day month this would have managed to have been our busiest month in views ever! Can't wait to get to post the final numbers this weekend.

What's the format of the numbers? XXX:XXX

RS went out of business for 30 minutes. also, scott, dont you feel like you're cooking the books a bit with your posting style/volume/rambling?

I'm no significant contributor to the numbers. My posting is as it has always been so relatively it's a non-factor month to month even in the post counts and the views can't be affected by individuals, they are huge numbers.

Especially since October looks to be a huge month!
Is that 800k views and 11k posts?

Sure is. We actually bounced off of 12K posts partway through the month. The views number is generated on a calendar month whereas the posts are on a rolling 30 days. So we have to grab the post count "right at the end of the month" or it will vary slightly. So this is a record for a calendar month but not a record for a floating 30 day period, but very close to that as well.
