I'd love to hear what you think of this release. If you're thinking about upgrading but am not 100% confident, wait for my upgrade-to-8.2 blog coming tomorrow. I'll share it here, OK?

There's one bug known which breaks upload for public link shares: https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/19922
It's already fixed (you could grab the fix if you care a lot) and will thus be OK in 8.2.1 but I wanted to keep you updated on this. It's probably the worst thing we found until now...

@jospoortvliet is document editing ready to go for 8.2? I noticed I don't have this feature at the moment, and figured I would ask before diving down a rabbit hole hopelessly trying to enable it...

Look at the plugins/addons. I think I saw it there last night when I was going through mine.

I found the text editor, but didn't see the documents addon 😞

Last time I checked, the Documents app wasn't ready for 8.2 yet, but that can change any moment 😉

There's an update of the Documents app, I haven't checked if it works with 8.2 but you'd think that that is the main reason for the update 😉

Meanwhile, Here is the next batch of #ownCloudConf videos starting with Sabre/DAV developer Evert Pot about promises & generators in PHP and followed by 8 other talks covering Docker, Jolla, Agile, Smashbox and more.

                            Enjoy and share.!

And here is a slide deck showing what's new in pictures (after introducing the idea of privacy and ownCloud as a technology :D)

After finally getting some downtime at work I was able to install the Documents addon and test it out. I'm pretty sure this feature alone is going to be a major selling point for deploying OwnCloud 😄

While testing the online editing + collaboration, everything just made sense and worked without any hoops to jump through, which is definitely more than I can say for our current solution!
