That should have been 300 pictures of Panama or 300 pictures of buses in Panama?

Came across this shop whilst on holiday in Shropshire earlier this week and thought of this thread:
-
That's now how I was picturing Crazy AJ's

Not me.. I expect a huge flashing sign with his face on it....

I still think that central Panama is an ideal place for this, although being farther north in Nicaragua I see a need here too. In Panama the needs are much more around "fixing" and "selling" computers. Up here it is much more around Internet cafes. He could run a business providing Internet, training and maybe hosting video game parties or something. Not nearly as much money to be made, but the cost of living is SO much lower.
-
@scottalanmiller yup, buy some surplus pallets of computers and fix em up on the cheap to sell to the locals.

In Panama? You can literally get anything there. Literally, more than in the US for sure. It's the world's trading country. Anything you could ever want is available in Panama.
-
if anyone know Portabello Row from Bedknobs and Brooksticks, that song is about Panama.

I'll have to take your word for it...
If PC's can be had so easily there, then why isn't there already a shop setup to handle this for people?

So you're saying I've got an in and a chance to corner the market?

More or less. @Bob-Beatty and @pchiodo and I were discussing this while we were there, what a need there was for this stuff as we drove around and could not find any resources for this kind of stuff. There is a need and a gap.
-
Like I've said somewhere, maybe not in this thread, you would need to handle end user computing device repair, sell peripherals and stuff (mice, keyboards, web cams, the basics) and the big one.... work on Android and iPhones.

So, hypothetically, if I wanted to have enough capital to get my life setup there (as in live there) and actually open one of these places, what are we talking in terms of numbers?

Well to start... Nicaragua VERY little, Panama MUCH more.
