Raspberry Pi Usage
-
How the Rasperry Pi is used for the linux learning person?
What are the features present in it? -
There's a ton of things that can be done on a Raspberry Pi
It's a tiny computer so it could easily be a DVR for your Over the Air (OTA) channels, it could be a security system.
The possibilities are rather endless.

Using a Raspberry Pi is NOT good for learning anything but ARM architecture. Raspberry Pi is just a low power ARM computer, nothing more. There is no magic. If you want to learn Linux or programming or anything else, using an RP is not smart as you will be spending your time learning about ARM architecture rather than the thing that you are wanting to learn. What makes you interested in an RP at all?

But the IMPORTANT thing is.... it's just a cheap, low powered ARM computer. It is only good for any of those tasks if your goal is to buy one RP for each of those things and you can buy lots of them for projects. You can do all of those same things more easily without an RP.

A question like this is a little like... what is the usage of a cheap computer.
Um.... whatever you want it to be.

RPi's are freaking awesome for learning linux or programming or electronics. When I see one my mind boggles at all the possibilities they contain. Like below, they're nothing special as far as a computer goes, but if they ignite your passion then I would consider that valuable and worth pursuing.
