@wrx7m There are a lot of models which should fit your needs. You can find more information on this page: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-hyperconverged-appliance .
Also, you can request a demo on that page to see how HA works in real life - it's free :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

      Under /var/lib/snapd/snap/rocketchat-server/current/bin/

But what you want to do I assume is use Compass and just attach to it remotely. It's on port 27017 as usual.

@Dashrender said in Thicket files in Windows - how are they "linked"?:

I recall seeing this ages ago. It happened when I would save a website onto my computer. I found that the directory had copies of the images (and perhaps other files) that the HTM file referenced.

      @Pete-S
Indeed this has been true since at least Windows 98 when IE had the feature (maybe still does) "Read web page offline" and also as a part of the Save... feature, and other browsers copied that same implementation when saving the assets. In the end it doesn't matter where it came from, how it was created, etc nor whether 9x or NT. If there's a .htm(l) file and a directory with _files in the name they are treated as linked in Explorer, but not in CMD (IIRC).

Thanks. I made the same observation - that it is the name that link the directory and file together and it is only in Explorer it is treated as a link.

I have a standard Dell USB dock but want to use it with a Fedora 29 user.

      https://github.com/displaylink-rpm/displaylink-rpm

That repo has a pull request in for the Fedora 29 updates, but I figured I could build it early for testing. Also I want to get more familiar with doing this on Linux in general.

I have no *devel bits installed on my system. Obviously, I can clone it down and run make, but I wonder if I need any other resources?

Inside the "ci" folder there is a script to let fedora downlad everything and compile via makefile

      That did it.

My understanding is that once connected, ZT's service doesn't have any impact on the connection. It only brokers(?) the connection.

That's my understanding. But if the brokering goes down, I imagine that problems crop up pretty quickly.

Yes because it has to check in fairly often. Otherwise you could have terminated users still with access.

@matteo-nunziati That's pretty bad design if there is no automated way to backup to a remote blob provider or to push said backups to said outside provider. . .

That $399 is sounding incredibly reasonable now.

A main goal of any cloud service from major vendors is to lock in. Try to access a backup in GCP to export data: you can't.
I'm digging a bit to understand if the SQL backup in azure is accessible or managed by any infrastructure account which prevents users to access them directly...

      BWT, 399 lifetime is good.

Choosing .NET Core or .NET Framework depends on your need.
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/standard/choosing-core-framework-server

Summary.... .NET Core when you are a competent developer. .NET Framework when you are using legacy crap that you can't get away from.

They make it pretty clear which is first class and which is a crippled fallback.

@dafyre I didn't ever get back to needing this until now. How were you able to achieve this? I use Fedora 28 and the Cinnamon desktop.

Sadly, no, I haven't. From what I can tell, Fedora 28 (probably 29 too) use Wayland by default. I haven't found a way to get it working yet. I tried switching the Login Screen to use X first, but even that didn't help.

Have you tried disabling Wayland instead?

I hadn't thought about that. I'll have to do a fresh install and see how that's done, unless there's a working VNC Server package in Fedora 29...

Just edit /etc/gdm/custom.conf and uncomment WaylandEnable=false and then restart. You will have only two options GNOME and GNOME Classic.

That gets me one step closer. I can get XRDP to connect to the local VNC server, but the user has to log in (locally) first... :face_with_cold_sweat:

@Dashrender said in Cloudflare - Forwarding CNAME to HTTPS URL?:

I don't really understand this - wouldn't you need a redirect command to make this work correctly? As stated - the browser thinks it's going to careers.domain.com, but that's being redirected via cname to joes.website.com, and joe's has a TLS cert.

Wouldn't the correct way be to have a server accept the request for careers.domain.com and execute a redirect to a new URL (joes.website.com) and now the browser will know it's going to joes site and accept the cert?

What server? He has no server. He simply wanted an alias for a nasty long URL.
      careers.domain.com instead of adp.com/346y365hy3/365h56/456/y6/

Any good proxy will do this. CloudFlare is one of the best.

      So process.

Create a CNAME entry for careers.domain.com pointing somewhere. Make sure the orange cloud is on. This makes the actual destination not matter because the IP will return as CloudFlare. But you want it to be something intelligent in case of problems as the OP found out. Create a redirect rule in CloudFlare. This is no different than the redirect 301 that you would use on your NginX proxy or other system. Profit

Well - there's your website I mentioned - the proxy. It's doing the redirect. OK - fine, it's not really a website (at least not likely), but you get the point - and I'm learning .. so thanks.
But my general thinking was along the same lines as your setup.

You might look at the tools that Apple is pushing (and thus supporting). I don't know if Munki will fit your requirements, but it may.

Here is a list of several projects for managing macOS: https://simplemdm.com/2018/07/19/popular-open-source-tools-for-mac-admins/. NoMAD is pretty cool if you're in a Windows-centric environment.
