The dashboard has a pretty graph you can use to see what is going on at a high level.

I've used this in the past. Works well, and much cheaper than $8.

I use GoDaddy, it's not bad.

      CloudFlare

Did you manage to get in? I've been on the waiting list for months and even paid to be moved up, and they've not opened to me yet.

Not yet, but if this guy is just getting ready it could be a valid option.

Also, you have not been waiting months. The service has not been available that long.

I've been waiting months since they announced it. It is, AFAIK, not available at all yet.

Announced on Sept 27, so, you win. Months (plural) barely. 73 days, 2.5 months.

Hey, @scottalanmiller look what I received today

"It gets the job done" could easily fit the bill in the scenario I provided.

All solutions work, and are OS agnostic. Barco Clickshare, AirTame, Mersive Solstice, ChromeCast etc etc.

They all work and meet the requirements, some are more expensive than others. But all work and meet the requirements. How much better do "I" have to do than just using "whatever everyone else uses and bought" (no one was ever fired for buying ibm) as the saying goes.

      Right?

That's my point - that you are defining "working" incorrectly. There are two ways to do it. Does it "meet the minimum" or is it "at least attempted to be done well?"

No one, outside of IT, ever accepts "doing nothing" as working. It's unique to IT to accept zero evaluation as a guideline for success. If we use normal standards, we'd evaluate if the solution was acceptable based on it being good relative to other options, not evaluated in a vacuum.

Imagine a chef getting "pass/fail" on making a hamburger in school. Sure, it was uncooked and unedible, but technically ground meat made it onto a piece of bread. No one, ever, would accept that as "getting the job done" of being a chef. He might not manage to make the best burger, but he'd be expected to try and do better than just slapping meat on bread. If he didn't, it would be considered a fail.

We DID find last night that one machine had updated to a different version than the other. But the other is months behind but refuses to recognize that an update exists. Untangle claims updates are delayed to reduce server load and there is no option to control versions (basically... this is in no way a business product.)

There is always a way to force the updates, I bet this are actual old workstations or servers with Untangle, otherwise they would have been in version 14.1... This is not way configured the same for updates on both devices..

Don't think so, looking at the hardware they looked like store bought Untangle commercial devices.

Weird all around, but I understand 😞

@jmoore said in Konica Minolta BizHub C3850 No Printing on Windows 10:

@Dashrender Got it. Our departments have their own budget so if they want to print color they can but they figured out fast to be responsible for their own paper.

That seems like a bad approach, since any given department could be forced to stop work "because they overran their paper budget".

Usually, they use the code and pin to know where they are using color but otherwise default is to allow b&w to print without a code.

How does the printer know the difference? Black is a color. .

      Really?

Yes really, how does a printer know the difference between CMYK and a page which is black and white.

It's an honest question as I don't know how a Pin to "print in color" would affect this the way you described it.

Also to whoever downvoted, not sure why.

Okay, there are different types of print black and white, gray scale and color which uses CMYK , usually on MFP devices they have different toners for esch of those colors plus black. When a job is sent to the printer with the color setting on the driver it then uses those toners while black and white only requests the black toner

None of the explains what I've asked. How does entering a pin, allow someone to print in color? I've always seen Pin or No Pin for all printing.

Nothing I've ever used has offered "pin for color prints only" etc.

      It can be for both.

An inline device might be a bit easier to handle for transparent proxying.

UBNT Router --> Web Proxy Device --> Rest of the network.

found it. It was the individual time for that ESXi member. It was running on it's own time, neither host time or any NTP. It was off by the 6 minutes. So for some reason, VMWare was syncing this setting with the host's ESXi clock, not the hardware clock, even though the settings disallow that.

How do you know the VMware tools was doing the sync?. As I said in my earlier post if windows goes and tries to get the hardware clock no matter what your tool says for heartbeat or times are pretty station it’s going to get the Clock from the host.

look at the picture I posted above. It was vmtoolsd.exe that was causing it to jump forward and svchost.exe that was correcting it. I found this under event 4616

That’s something that can be changed per trunk. So if you craft your rules to send those kind of calls out that trunk that would be the only time it applies.

I was just thinking along those lines Thanks for your help
